This standard means that a good teacher will use different teaching styles to facilitate learning for each and every one of their students. In order to improve student learning, a teacher needs to be able to adapt the lesson so that all students can be successful at learning. The teacher will encourage creativity from the student and teach them how to problem solve. When a teacher can do this, they will be considered an effective teacher. I would implement this idea by using different teaching styles like visual learning, auditory learning, and kinesthetic learning. This will prevent students from making their own assumptions about the rules and consequences. An effective teacher will establish rules and consequences for breaking rules. They will be visible in the classroom so that all students can see them. This will help the students know what is expected of them and can also help student’s behavior. When a student is behaving properly, they may be rewarded by a simple statement from the teacher like “good job” or they may be given a small prize like a sticker. I would establish rules and consequences in my classroom. The rules I set for my classroom, I would be sure to post them in a visible area so that every student can see them. I would make sure to explain to the students why the rules are the way they are and tell them that rules are needed so that everyone can learn in a safe manner. Lastly, I would also model the behavior that I expect from my students. I believe it is very important to model what you want to see from students. I think setting rules and standards in my class will help make my classroom run smoothly and provide effective learning for all students. For insistence, if I had a student who wasn’t understanding the material or appeared to be bored, this would tell me it’s time to make adjustments. I would change the way I am presenting the lesson or change the spend that I am teaching the lesson. I will make sure I am open to suggestions and that I am open to change. I believe this is important so that every student as a positive experience with learning. This is something that all teachers do on a daily basis. Teachers are always evaluating themselves and striving to do better, or at least they should be. To make sure teachers are always improving in their teaching, they can attend professional development workshops, participate in team meetings, and share ideas with other educators. Teachers want to take part in these events so that they can be the best teacher possible. A lot can be learned from others. Therefore, when teachers collaborate with one another, they stay on the same page with where their students are at and what they need to do to get the students when they need to be.
