Kids are afraid of many things, such as clowns, the dark, spiders, terrorists, but guns shouldn’t belong to that list. Children aren’t supposed to know about guns at a young age. Children usually become more aware about guns at an age where they start to play video games with guns. Some kids even hear about school shootings on the news. If Gun control laws were more strict there would be a smaller percent chance of guns getting in the wrong hands. Many people that shouldn't have access to guns are carrying them around and could cause a great deal or danger. Instead of checking mental stability of the person they are giving gun access to, they check their ID’s to see if they have a gun permit. The second amendment of the United States constitution states “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”. Meaning, if you need a gun for purposes of security of a state, for example, a militia, you are able to have access guns. Nowhere else in the constitution of the United States does it say that anybody with a permit can have access to guns unless it is for the protection of the free state. Many people are either dead or in danger because of how gun control is being handled, and who is being allowed to have access to guns. New York laws state that to have a gun you must have a permit to purchase a gun, a registration of firearms, licensing of owners. Even if you might have a permit, and a registration, and a license doesn’t mean that you aren’t depressed , or hate your school, or are feeling lonely, or just got out of a relationship. Any type of sadness or heartbreak can make people mentally unstable, and that;s what leads to school
