Many states have already legalized marijuana for recreational use. Californians are currently working on getting Prop 64 to pass so that marijuana is legalized. There are many pros and cons as to whether or not marijuana should be legalized. Many have conflicting opinions about the drug. Some think it is a dangerous drug that has much influence on crimes that are being committed, while others see it as a life saving method when used for medical treatment.
Legalizing marijuana could help boost the economy with sales tax revenue, this extra money would benefit our state. It would create more revenue for law enforcement to be able to have all the necessary tools to reduce crime, including adding more personnel. There are many conflicting opinions about the legalization of this drug. After careful consideration during my research, In my opinion, I would definitely be for the legalization of marijuana. I feel that there are more pros than cons and many great things can come out of this. I would legalize marijuana in the state of California and grow from there.
