My parent though I had ADHD and took me to hospital when I was five years old. I had hard time during classes on sitting on my chair quietly, all though I had high scores on my tests, I was always the “problem student” in the class. One of my elementary school teachers, suggested my parent help me find my interest. Therefore, most time in my childhood was learning things: Chinese traditional musical instrument, ballet, modern dance, painting, and calligraphy. Apparently, I did not get into any of these fields, but I did do way better in class because of all those energy consumptions. When I was in middle school, unlike other girls that good at literacy, I was terrible in my English but doing an excellent job in mathematics and sciences. I was lucky enough that my English teacher, who appreciated me to be myself instead of required me to fit in the stereotype, but he also never gave up on me …show more content…

While I am currently co-teaching toddlers in a children center, I figure out that I still lack something to be a real teacher. Field-based practice is one significant element of being a teacher, which I lack. Boston University (BU) education program does not only afford the chance for higher education, but most important BU has the field placement opportunities in Early Childhood Learning Lab (ECLL) for students like me. As my supervisor's suggestions, “learning theory is important, but the essential is practice.” Moreover, I am able to involve in curriculum design recently, which is the area I never touch before. I am fascinated by how to make a curriculum fun, age appropriate, but also meet the common core criteria. Furthermore, I am also absorbing in how to using my cultures background advanced to help students that facing the same frustrations that I used to, let them know language barriers will not stop them from
