I’m most proud of my two terms as ASB Director of Communications, the student spokesperson for the ASB and faculty. The job demands proficiency in graphic design, public speaking, and time management; responsibilities include creating posters, broadcasting PSAs, commentating class competitions, and sending weekly emails to an audience of 1600 students. I’ve led two ASB committees to coordinate our school’s Stanford Blood Drive and FairTrade Initiative. I’m also the go-to guy who answers all students’ general questions. How many times a week does an email from a complete stranger pop up in the inbox?

After completing three semesters at the USC Marshall School of Business, I have more clearly defined both my short-term and long-term career goals. The Business-Cinematic Arts program at Marshall has inspired me to pursue a career in the entertainment industry, and it has introduced me to facets of the industry I had previously not known about. After taking a BCA class taught by talent manager Danny Sussman, I am interested in talent representation. In the short-term, I hope to intern at a talent agency or management company during the 2017-2018 school year. The BCA program’s internship requirement has also helped me narrow my career ambitions.

I feel corporate America has been my greatest teacher for learning different cultures and respecting those cultures in the workplace. I have been blessed in that the companies I have worked for have put important emphasis on culture in the workplace and how to learn to interact with people of different values, skillsets, experiences, and backgrounds. This has greatly helped me in my career because it has broadened my skillsets. For example, by learning how to communicate with a team that works offshore, I have learned better time management and how to adjust my written communication to avoid confusion. On a more personal note, one of my very good friends is a man from an offshore team in India that I worked with at a previous employer.
Ever since entering community college, my goal was to serve in the health care field with a business degree. The hospice and home care volunteer opportunity that was presented to me solidified my foundation that I want to really work in the health care field and also working for them. In summer 2016, I worked as a receptionist for their physical therapy clinic at Oakland Chinatown in Oakland. The job was enriching to me and taught me a little bit about working in the health field. It was a challenge to serve the majority Asian clientele that most of the time did not speak any English.
I had always considered law as a potential career even before going to university. It is because I wanted to have an intellectually stimulating job and to join a respected profession. Once I started to find out about the different types of law, I found I was most interested in business-related law. I am very interested in joining Clyde & Co because I wanted to get exposure to high profile clients and the international aspects of its work.
During the years of my GCSE education, I developed a keen interest in the world of law and the legal system. Since then, I have made great effort to keep in tune with legal happenings, such as the killing of Mark Duggan, the London riots of 2011, and the ruling of ‘lawful killing’ made in 2016. This case, in particular, intrigued me and proved to be very thought-provoking. The theories and questions that events like these present to me is the driving force behind my desire to read Law.

It is my firm belief that the CPA license is an assurance of quality. The task of obtaining this license takes a lot of hard work and persistence. This in itself is the reason why I believe that obtaining a CPA license would be beneficial to my career path. It validates to potential future employers that, as an accountant, I have mastered key concepts of the profession while on the other hand it gives a similar assurance to clients. In addition to obtaining the license, it is my belief that an effective CPA should also show leadership and ethical behavior.
Noah Garces Mrs. Kigar Senior English 27 February 2023 Financial Advisor Throughout my childhood our family had two dogs, three rabbits, five cats, five turtles and a lizard. Dr. Kline, I have had this message in my drafts for a long time. I have still been bouncing around the idea of getting my PhD a year after I graduate with my MBA. I only have loans to pay for the MBA program, because I was fortunate enough to have a financial based scholarship (ACCESS) cover my whole undergrad, so I really want to pay off my loans and then jump right into a PhD program. I have brought up the subject with a few people and they told me that it would be very difficult for me to work in the industry for 5-7 years and to come back for the PhD because I do not know if I will have a mortgage or family to support, and the money I would get from the PhD candidate stipend would be a lot less than my salary would be working in the industry. So it would be an overall
Having my own business had been a dream of mines for as long as I can remember. That's why the career I hope to follow would be one of an entrepreneur. For one, I can be my own boss and I want to become a business owner. Being my own boss means I can work when and where I want to. Meaning I choose my own hours and I get to decide if I want to work from home or go into the office if that's what I want to do.
Many people have a role models or people they look up to in their field of interest as they approach the life decisions of choosing a major in college. Whether it may be a doctor, lawyer, engineer, or businessman, someone you admire inspires you and the value-based decisions you make on your path to success. For me, I have two role models. My friend Scott and my sister have always been by my side to guide me through life’s challenges and with every decision that I choose to act upon. I made a pact to myself that when I am older, I will surpass them.
