The major I have chosen to pursue at Appalachian State University is Business Management. This major was selected because I felt like it best suits my soft skills that I have an extremely high emotional intelligence that naturally flows into leadership and listening skills. I am intrinsically motivated and feel in the right business environment I could help an organization grow and prosper. A part of intrinsic motivation is the ability to motivate others and visionary aspects both of which are integral aspects of expanding a business financially. After learning useful managerial skills in a corporate setting. I hope to become self-employed in an entrepreneurial endeavor. Having a goal and being motivated to reach that goal requires much attention to detail. To be hired in a corporate or “white-collar” business environment, it became evident that I needed a college education. Last spring, I consulted with him before making my fall schedule.
