Does the implementation of Common Core State Standards assist students in the future, after school to be successful in the real world as a contributing and knowledgeable individual in society? Common Core has two main subjects it focuses on, math and english/literature. There is question whether or not Common Core prepares students well enough for college and career after high school. There are debates on the fact that people put common core in the same group as curriculum and also whether having standardised testing properly evaluates an individual's grasp on the curriculum.
Common core focuses on two main subjects, math and english/literature. Some people say that these subjects don’t provide the skills or knowledge necessary for the success of an individual outside of high school, in the work field. Common core restricts students to two learning skills that won’t alone assist a student to survive. Common core does not put any emphasis on any technical or work study programs. If common core put more emphasis on those classes students would be able to prepare and explore opportunities to develop ideas of what they want to do in the future.
