While animal testing has developed many cures and treatments, animal testing needs to be taken away for good. Millions of animals are being used for this research which can lead to extinction, animals are different structurally with anatomy, and animal testing isn’t always helpful to humans. Animals should have the same rights that humans do, and since they can’t speak for themselves someone has to. There have been diseases in animals that have been cured but the same cure doesn’t work in humans so these poor animals have been abused for no reason at all, and trying to solve these problems that can’t be solved is hurting more and more animals every single day. First, animal testing should not be happening at all and not everything performed on the animals is right. “...it is not only cruel but ineffective. Animals do not get many of the human diseases that people do, such as major types of heart diseases, many types of cancer, HIV, Parkinson’s Disease, or schizophrenia.” “Instead, signs of these diseases are artificially induced in animals in laboratories in an …show more content…
There are 100 million animals being used for animal testing each year including mice, rats, frogs, dogs, cats, rabbits, hamster, guinea pigs, monkeys, fish, and birds are killed in laboratories here in the United states for biology lessons, medical training, chemical testing, drug testing, food testing, and cosmetics. “95% of animals used in experiments are not protected by the Animal Welfare Act.” “The AWA does not cover rats, mice, fish, and birds, which compromise around 95% of the animals used in research.” (ProCon.org #6). Since these animals are not being protected by the Animal Welfare Act species of rats, mice, and fish are going extinct from animal testing. Even animals, such as chimpanzees, that are protected by the Animal Welfare Act are going extinct and keep declining due to animal
