Leadership is the ability to guide people without forcing direction. An individual who leads and organization can establish a clear vision by providing the necessary information for their staff. If you are hired for a leadership or supervisory role, you should be able to lead in a positive and professional way. This sets a good example for your employees. A leader can encourage and inspire others to achieve and reach their highest potential.
My passion for education and athletics is what started my career as a teacher. Now, each passing day is a reflection my desire to impact students and student-athletes in a positive way. As a coach, I am the leader of a team. It means leading your team to pursue greatness and success, even through challenges and change. I have tackled issues such taking a losing football team build enough confidence to finish third in the district.
As a coach I would use strategies that are simple. I would maintain a coaching mind-set. I would make sure I stay in a coaching frame of mind at all times. On a daily basis I will make sure I educate and motivate individuals. Let individuals know that my main goal is not to fix or change them but to help them become better individuals.
PERSONAL LEADERSHIP PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT In my approach to leadership I center on the values of serving others, showing empathy and striving for growth. I advocate for creating an environment built on trust, mutual respect and transparent dialogue, ensuring that each team member is appreciated and encouraged to give their all. As a leader, my dedication lies in supporting others by comprehending their aspirations and nurturing their progress and evolution. Through leading with empathy, honesty, and a results-oriented mindset, my goal is to spark transformations and propel shared achievements.
I will be a leader through my actions as a flight instructor, as I will inspire and mentor. Obtaining the title of flight instructor is not an easy task, it is earned. Having the knowledge most do not acquire gives me the opportunity to be a leader in the aviation industry. Teaching day in and day out allows me to create friendly relationships with my students so they can do so one day. My actions of creating friendly relationships while teaching will inspire future instructor to follow my path one day.
Each individual has their own unique spin on what it means to be a leader. For some, leadership is asking questions in class for a shy friend while for others it is fulfilling responsibilities. I believe leadership is a combination of understanding your duties and helping others pursue their own goals. One of the most fulfilling parts of leadership is watching others succeed because of your guidance. I am the LD captain for my high school debate team and a large part of the responsibility that comes with that is helping new debate students learn the ropes.
My personal definition of leadership is the ability to help guide and work with a group and work together to achieve a common goal. I think that there are many ways that a person can be a leader, or be in a position with leadership without fitting into the definition that I provided. Leadership is difficult term to provide just one definition for, because there are so many ways that the role of a leader will change with each situation that they are. I think that my style of leadership is to step up to the role of leader when it is needed. I typically do not seek out leadership positions, but rather wait for them to prevent themselves, and then take advantage of the situations.
Leadership When I were to look back five years ago to when I was a college freshman, I sit and think to myself: I cant believe I am who I am today. It is easy to sit and talk about who you are and what you want in life but when you actually have to sit back and really think about who you are and critique and analyze your development and growth as an individual. It becomes a difficult task. Being in college really helped me become the person that I am today. I can say I am very proud of who I become: A Leader.
I will be the first to admit that I am not a natural-born leader. All throughout elementary school, middle school, and high school, I always managed to steer away and avoid any responsibilities involving leadership and service toward either an organization, or a school-sponsored group. I was totally and whole heartedly convinced that I would either do a poor job, make things in the organization worse, or that everyone would end up hating me. Yes, I am not a natural-born leader.
Leadership is defined as the action of leading a group of people or an organization. Being a leader may not be easy, but it is something that all people should strive to be. To be a leader, you must be responsible, confident, firm, kind, decisive, and care about the people who you associate with. Playing golf in high school, I learned discipline, responsibility, and determination. From being a captain of the golf team, I learned patience, trust, confidence, and empathy.
Throughout the semester, I have learned about the principles of leadership, and how I can apply each one into my future in the health field. The first principle is Model the Way. My understanding of this principle is that in order to be a leader, one must demonstrate the path to go on, in order to be successful. The commitments of this principle are to clarify values and set an example. I believe that one must be able to set an example so that those following will know what to expect.
From class what I have learned about leadership is that when someone takes charge they need to bring the group together. When the leader brings the group together everyone works well. In the group others would share ideas, collaborate together, and merge the ideas they came up with so that everyone had contributed to the projects. The definition of leadership to me is taking charge of a group or a project, bringing the group together, and getting the best possible outcome of work for all the members included in the project. The type of leader that I am is a Democratic leader.
A leader, as defined in Merriam-Webster dictionary, is something that leads. This does not wholly illustrate the traits and qualities required to be a leader. I envision a leader as one who creates a vision for the future and delivers that vision effectively to others, to motivate and inspire them. My description of a leader aligns with the goals the W. P. Carey School of Business has set forth, thus establishing a relationship that will be mutually beneficial. Throughout my life, I have been cognizant of the way I carry myself, from my mannerisms to my attitudes, working on my personal development to become the leader I aspire to become, especially when actions speak louder than words.
Leadership is something that every collective society will need regardless of its make-up. I try to lead in the things I am able to. Being a leader is more than just bossing people around and getting what you want all of the time, it is understanding the needs of all the people involved and creating progress for the good of all. Leadership is not always easy, especially when no one in a group views a situation remotely the same. I attended a school where there was very little diversity in terms of race but, very typical of other types of diversity.
Leadership, friendship, and service are the key ingredients to a person of exceptional behavior. Leadership, friendship, and service are three qualities that are vital to the life of a successful person. They create and lead to endless opportunities in their business and personal lives. Being a friend means more to me than anything. I am very familiar with the feeling of being in need of someone else’s company.
